Guest speaker Steve Pollington is a well-known writer on early mediaeval topics, mostly connected with Anglo-Saxon and Germanic culture, and the Old English language. Here he speculates on the relationship of 'Robin Hood' to some of the Old English literature. His title is:

Dwellers in the Wildwood
The concept of feral men in AS literature

He is planning his talk as
"an exploration of some ideas -
  1. living wild in the woods as part of warrior initiation
  2. tales of green men and woodsmen
  3. green children
  4. reflexes of all these in Tolkien."
